Duty Station: Home-based or New York, USA (as to be mutually agreed between UNFPA and the consultant)
Purpose of consultancy:
Businesses are a key ally for delivering sexual and reproductive health information and services via the workplace to millions of their employees across the world. Investing in access to modern contraception methods for women and girls represents an essential pathway to gender equality, diversity and inclusion, and overall economic development. Adopting family friendly policies such as flexible working arrangements to cope with menstrual or menopause symptoms, family planning programmes, providing access to information, subsidized access to reproductive health services, and support to victims of violence and harassment, results in women having control over their sexual and reproductive health.
Recognizing the pivotal role for the private sector to mainstream sexual reproductive health in the workplace, UNFPA and partners established the “Coalition for Reproductive Justice in Business”, a multi-stakeholder platform working to advance and mainstream Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), women’s economic empowerment and gender equality within corporate strategy and operations. The coalition is working towards (1) increased investments on SRHR in the private sector; (2) conducting research and data to build evidence that advances the business case on SRHR in the workplace; (3) mainstreaming and integrating SRHR in corporate operations and leading reporting frameworks.
The multi-stakeholder Coalition consists of over 25 organisations including corporates, international organisations, academia, think tanks and civil society organisations. In January 2025, the Coalition introduced the initial set of Coalition Champions, organisations that have committed to implement SRHR programmes and policies in their workplaces and supply chains
